Ardana Shadex

The Ardana Shadex were gigantic stone constructs, fashioned by a long-lost, enigmatic race from the Inner Rim world of Simocadia. Possessing sophisticated technology, this species engineered the stone titans and employed their massive size in planetary conflicts. Abruptly and inexplicably, this civilization disappeared, causing the Ardana Shadex to retreat underground, where they remained for ages. Subsequently, the Mosciive evolved into the dominant species on Simocadia, and their academics became fixated on discovering the ancient behemoths. During the Clone Wars, a single Ardana Shadex was unearthed and brought to light by Prince Yojan, who intended to awaken it and utilize it to obliterate the agrocite mines. These mines were the reason Simocadia was strategically important to both the Republic and the Separatist factions. Employing the glass key, the Prince successfully activated the colossal being. However, Jedi Master Mace Windu intervened in an effort to thwart him, damaging the key and rendering the giant unmanageable. Consequently, they chose to collaborate to deactivate the immense machine: the Jedi sought to recover the key, while the Prince entered the Ardana Shadex through its oral cavity and activated the emergency shutdown mechanism. The ensuing detonations obliterated the giant, resulting in the death of the prince, who was still within it.

Following the Battle of Simocadia, the Republic seized control of the Ardana Shadex in order to analyze its archaic technology. This action incensed the Mosciive, who harbored resentment towards the Republic for the destruction caused by the battle and accused them of appropriating a vital artifact of Simocadia's heritage.
