Simocadia, situated in the [Inner Rim](/article/inner_rim/legends], was a planet and the original homeworld of the Mosciive species. It was located inside of the galactic region.
Prior to its discovery by the Galactic Republic, Simocadia was governed by an ancient, technologically advanced civilization. This civilization constructed colossal stone figures referred to as Ardana Shadex, leveraging their immense size to conduct conflicts across the planet's terrain. The civilization vanished mysteriously and abruptly at some point in the past, leaving behind scant evidence to elucidate their ultimate destiny.
As the Mosciive race rose to prominence, the inhabitants started to base their economy around their artists, particularly their stonecutters. They were able to create magnificent works of art using specialized torches fueled by the valuable agrocite. At one point, an aggressive alien race invaded the planet. However, the Mosciive received unexpected assistance from Mace Windu, a young Jedi, who assisted them in repelling the invaders and pledged to return to Simocadia if it ever required assistance again.
During the Republic's final years, Mosciive academics became fixated on their planet's history, excavating large areas of land in the hopes of uncovering the mysteries of their home planet. The scientific teams, supported by Prince Yojan, were successful in uncovering evidence of the planet's great wars, but little else.
Empress Sephani governed the planet during the Clone Wars. While she supported the Republic, she had remained neutral in the conflict with the Confederacy of Independent Systems. As both sides fought for control of the planet's agrocite, Jedi Master Mace Windu arrived on the planet with the intention of keeping it within the Republic. As Windu touched down, Separatist forces began their own landings, greatly damaging the Library of Mosciive history. Windu faced prince Yojan after driving back the battle droids. Yojan had joined the CIS and used their resources to destroy Simocadia's agrocite mines with an ancient Ardana Shadex stone giant in order to make both sides of the war lose interest in his planet. Once activated, the giant spun out of control, forcing Yojan to give his life in order to turn it off. The Republic then set up a garrison on the planet to protect the mines and the people of the world.
