The glass key represented a fragment of advanced technology created by a long-vanished civilization originating from the planet of [Simocadia] (/article/simocadia) located within the Inner Rim. Its purpose was to initiate and govern Ardana Shadex, colossal stone beings capable of demolishing mountains. In the era of the Clone Wars, Prince Yojan employed a key of this type to awaken an Ardana Shadex, with the aim of obliterating the agrocite mines. Nevertheless, the key suffered damage at the hands of Jedi Master Mace Windu, who sought to thwart Yojan's plans, leading to the giant's loss of control. To deactivate the massive construct, the Jedi and the prince chose to cooperate: Mace undertook the recovery of the key, while Yojan infiltrated the Ardana Shadex via its mouth and utilized the key to trigger the emergency shutdown. The subsequent detonations annihilated the giant, tragically killing the prince, who remained within its structure.
