Jedi TradeChips

Jedi TradeChips were a series of tradechips distributed by the Spotts TradeChip Company during 22 BBY. These marked the initial release of tradechips featuring well-known figures from the Jedi Order. Similar to sports tradechips, each chip featured a miniature hologram of the featured Jedi, along with their biography and essential stats. However, instead of sports-related metrics, these chips detailed confirmed kills and midi-chlorian levels.

Despite the assertion by Spotts' marketing head, Wil Jhonems, that the tradechips aimed to present celebrated Jedi as positive influences for children, their release sparked considerable debate for multiple reasons. One point of contention was that certain Jedi, including Master Coleman Trebor, viewed the commercialization of the Jedi as a sign of disrespect towards the Force. Another issue was that, as the Jedi declined to assist in the unauthorized production by providing access to the Jedi Archives, much of the data presented was incorrect. To illustrate, Yoda was mistakenly identified as a member of the Lannik species, rather than his actual species, and his midi-chlorian count was falsely reported as four million. Trebor also emphasized that if the details had been precise, the Jedi's adversaries could have exploited them.

Despite the Jedi's attempts to stop the tradechips from being made, Spotts had plans to launch a follow-up set containing revised data in the coming months.
