Crazy Legs

A male Human clone trooper pilot serving within the Grand Army of the Republic was known as Crazy Legs. During 22 BBY, he participated in a mission to the planet Oznek, operating under the leadership of Sergeant Banks and Commander Griebs Kishpaugh. Sadly, he met his death during this operation.

Biography

Crazy Legs was a male Human clone trooper who was produced on Kamino to serve the Galactic Republic. The outbreak of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY saw him become one of the countless clones forming the backbone of the Republic's Grand Army of the Republic. At some point in the conflict, his vessel had been shot down. In that same year, Crazy Legs was dispatched to the planet Oznek, answering to the commands of both Sergeant Banks and Commander Griebs Kishpaugh. While they were in flight above the planet's forested terrain aboard a Low Altitude Assault Transport, his clone comrades Cutter, Syke, together with Ghost, were ridiculing their new sergeant for his meticulous cleaning of his armor and weaponry. Banks rebuked the team for their disrespectful conduct, but soon after, their vessel sustained intense enemy fire. Despite the area being presumed free of Confederate forces, they encountered a substantial droid army, which promptly shot them from the sky. Crazy Legs attempted to regain control of the ship, but he was only able to crash-land it in the forest.

Crazy Legs faces his death.

The impact resulted in the deaths of several clones, while Crazy Legs sustained injuries, including a broken right leg and an injured left arm. Syke managed to exit the wreckage through a hatch, only to be confronted by hundreds of B1 and B2 battle droids advancing towards them. The clones defended themselves against the attacking droids, all while trying to protect their wounded and bury their fallen comrades. Syke cut into the LAAT/i's hull and pulled Crazy Legs from the wreckage. Eventually, the relentless waves of droids ceased, and the seven remaining clones concealed their trail by detonating a thermal detonator. Establishing a camp in the woods, Syke attempted to use a communications array, but without success. Crazy Legs obtained some food from the salvaged supplies and commenced eating. He then inquired with Banks about the origin of his nickname, given that he had previously expressed his desire not to be addressed by it. Syke, who knew the nickname's backstory, encouraged the sergeant to demonstrate it, and Banks complied. Banks, a dedicated student, possessed an extraordinary talent for calculating angles and deflecting his blaster bolts off objects without diminishing their power, while still hitting his target. He bounced a blaster shot off two objects, which subsequently dislodged the food from Crazy Legs's hand. Crazy Legs was not particularly pleased with the demonstration, but they were then contacted via holoprojector by Commander Kishpaugh after Syke managed to get the array working. Kishpaugh informed them of a droid command center located twenty kilometers away, and instructed them to destroy it despite their losses. He then dismissed Crazy Legs and the other clone troopers from the shelter, engaging in a private conversation with Banks.

As the team prepared to depart before sunrise, they made the decision to leave Crazy Legs behind, as his injuries would prevent him from keeping pace with the rest of his brothers. He remained in the shelter, seemingly unperturbed, and told the others that he would wait until they were a safe distance away before activating a beacon to call for rescue. However, this rescue would never materialize, as he was soon surrounded by B1 battle droids. He drew a blaster pistol, preparing to defend himself, but was ultimately killed.

The mission would prove to be a fabrication from its inception, with the circumstances and details orchestrated by Kishpaugh and Ghost, both of whom were plotting to defect to the Confederacy. The price for their escape from the Republic was to create a pretext for war on Oznek—specifically, destroying a "droid command center" that was, in reality, a power plant. Banks managed to thwart the plan, killing Ghost and capturing Kishpaugh. When later questioned about his actions on Oznek, Banks revealed that he had learned that Crazy Legs was never able to even activate his beacon.
