A male Human officer named Theraguin served the Galactic Republic as a member of the police force. He resided on Coruscant, which was the capital planet of the Republic. This was during the time of the Cold War with the rival Sith Empire. Theraguin held the rank of captain within the Coruscant Security Force (CSF). By the year 3643 BBY, Theraguin found himself operating in the Black Sun territory. Despite the withdrawal of most CSF personnel from this area, Theraguin remained dedicated to assisting the local population, who were being oppressed by the Black Sun criminal organization.
Theraguin was a male Human who served as a police officer in the Coruscant Security Force (CSF) on the Galactic Republic's capital planet of Coruscant. He attained the rank of captain. During the Cold War between the Republic and the Sith Empire, Theraguin's work took him to the Black Sun territory on Coruscant. Following the Sacking of Coruscant, the CSF struggled to maintain order and eventually requested assistance from the Republic Military. However, significant portions of the planet fell under the control of gangs, which then coalesced into the Black Sun criminal syndicate. Black Sun claimed sectors, primarily in the lower levels of Coruscant, and sought to enforce their own form of control. Having suffered losses during the Sacking and in the years that followed, the CSF largely abandoned the area, retreating to police essential government and commercial districts. Theraguin was among the few officers who remained behind, doing what he could to help, even though the CSF could only establish blockades and contain the street battles within specific zones.
Around 3643 BBY, Black Sun began a new tactic of terrorizing refugees and local residents. They would steal crates of Republic supplies, place them in public areas, and rig them with explosives. When people attempted to open these crates, they would detonate, killing everyone nearby. Theraguin initially dismissed these stories as rumors until he personally witnessed a woman being killed by one of these explosive crates. He attempted to disarm the crates, but he was limited in what he could do without being killed himself by Black Sun thugs.
At that time, an individual from the Republic offered to disarm the explosives. Theraguin accepted the offer, and the individual proceeded to disarm the rigged crates, while also eliminating the Black Sun thugs responsible for the terror. Theraguin offered the individual a reward upon their return, but was refused. He was pleasantly surprised to encounter someone who wasn't motivated by profit. Theraguin was grateful for the individual's help and continued his work in the Black Sun Territory.
Theraguin was an older, large man, possessing dark skin, brown eyes, and graying hair. A veteran of the police force, Theraguin stood as one of the few, if not the only, officer who persisted in working within the Black Sun Territory, a region abandoned by most of his colleagues, including his superior. Driven by a desire to alleviate the suffering of the local population, Theraguin defied the Black Sun thugs, venturing beyond the CSF's barricades and into the heart of the territory. He even risked his life to defuse explosives in an effort to save lives. However, the pervasive violence and hopelessness of the Black Sun Territory left Theraguin feeling frustrated. He sarcastically referred to himself as the "last officer on the job" in that particular sector.
Like many of his fellow veteran cops, Theraguin had initially joined the CSF to maintain peace. However, the years following the Sacking of Coruscant brought with them a brutal form of urban warfare, a situation for which Theraguin and the CSF were ill-prepared. Despite recognizing his limitations, Theraguin remained committed to his work in the Black Sun Territory, persevering through all the challenges.
