The Talisman of Age existed as a member of the Talismans of Transformation collection, which were shapeshifting talismans possessed by the Witches of Dathomir. The Nightsisters employed the Talisman of Age as a means to briefly revitalize their youth by drawing upon the primal essence of Humans. It was believed that, similarly to other Nightsister relics, its functionality derived from the energies of the Spirits, entities purported to originate from a separate dimension within Nightsister lore. Mother Talzin documented the talisman and its effects within her publication, Wild Power.
