Strained keebadas

Strained keebadas, referred to as keebadas binggona in Huttese, was a culinary creation—a food dish—that prominently featured keebadas. This dish, strained keebadas, was a delicacy crafted by the Hutt species and held in high regard by them.

The Human scholar Ebenn Q3 Baobab sang the dish's praises in his book, Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, in 6 ABY. He highlighted it as a personal favorite and suggested that Humans visiting the spaceport of Mos Eisley on Tatooine should sample it at the Hutt eateries there. The Huttese section of the guide included this recommendation, with Baobab advising diners to wear gloves while consuming it. Furthermore, the guide noted that Huttese meals were typically enjoyed in a haphazard manner, utensils were optional, and prices were steep. In 19 ABY, strained keebadas were part of a grand feast hosted by the Hutt crime lord Popara Anjiliac Diresto in his penthouse located on Nal Hutta.

Behind the scenes

The Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, penned by Ben Burtt and released in 2001, marked the initial appearance of strained keebadas. Later, they were featured in the 2012 novel Scourge, authored by Jeff Grubb. Scourge was a novelization of the Tempest Feud adventure from the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Roleplaying Game, although the original role-playing material did not mention this particular dish.
