Sparks (astromech droid)

Sparks is the moniker that Dex Tiree, the Gold Squadron pilot, used for his R5 astromech droid. The name originated from a common phrase uttered by Dex's mother: "Small sparks light big fires." During the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY, both Sparks and Dex met their demise.
