Smashball

Smashball is a sport that was enjoyed throughout the galaxy. As a fifteen-year-old human during the time of the Republic Era, Mon Mothma came across smashball in the winter months.

Behind the scenes

Within present-day Star Wars canon, the sport of smashball initially appeared in the novelization of the 2016 Anthology movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which was penned by Alexander Freed. On the other hand, in the Star Wars Legends timeline, the mention of smashball occurred for the first time in Children of the Jedi, a 1995 novel written by Barbara Hambly.
