A member of the Ugor species' governing body and religious order was the priest-scientist. In the period separating the Battle of Yavin from the Battle of Hoth, these priest-scientists examined debris originating from the first Death Star, finding within it a potent gravity well projector. The priest-scientists then modified the device and employed it to organize the Ugors' vast salvage operation throughout their system, known as the Paradise system.
