The Ordnance Disposal unit functioned as a part of the Coruscant Security Force. This unit consisted of bomb disposal experts whose duty it was to locate, render safe, and ultimately eliminate explosive devices.
During the events of 22 BBY, numerous bomb disposal specialists were on the scene at the Galactic City spaceport hostage siege. Following the elimination of the terrorists by clone commandos belonging to Omega Squad, these specialists took control of the bombs utilized to hold the hostages. It was then that one of the explosives officers made the discovery that the bombs were, in reality, decoys.
