Maja, a Squib by trade, earned his living as a scavenger. During 3.5 ABY, he struck a deal to recover components from the surplus stockpile located at Rithgar's Shadowport, situated on Kothlis' second moon. While there, he discovered a Tech 4 PDV and believed it could be transformed into a functional starship with some adjustments. According to their agreement, it now belonged to him, so he proceeded to unlock the device and begin his work. Much to his annoyance, the PDV sealed shut, trapping him within. He was unable to voice his objections as he felt the vessel being raised and moved away.
The PDV was eventually unlocked from the exterior, and Maja discovered he was back on Kothlis, facing a group of scoundrels who claimed ownership of the salvaged item. The Squib rapidly powered up the unit and fled, leading the unwanted company on a frantic pursuit through the woodland. The unknown individuals were able to bring him to a halt, and Maja understood he needed to negotiate. He chose to relinquish the PDV—in exchange for compensation—and even proposed his assistance in reconfiguring it; it appeared the strangers were interested in injecting erroneous data into the device's systems.
Maja is featured as a non-player character in the adventure synopsis "Operation: Recovery" for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, which was published by West End Games.
