Kullan Velerinden

Captain Kullen Velerinden served as an officer within the Imperial Army, leading the Imperial garrison stationed on Tasariq. Velerinden, who was born on Elrood, began his life as a common criminal until he foolishly attempted to assault an Imperial Army major who was off-duty. After being soundly defeated by the major, he was given a choice; face the consequences of his actions in Elrood's courts, or enlist in the Imperial Army. Velerinden chose the latter option.

Within the Army, Velerinden distinguished himself, making a favorable impression on his drill sergeants, which led to a recommendation for officer training at the Academy. Climbing through the ranks, he demonstrated his capabilities as an AT-ST commander. However, his criminal tendencies persisted, and he began to generate thousands of credits on the side through various illicit activities, such as selling supplies to the black market. Despite a fondness for high-stakes sabacc, his lack of skill in the game meant his schemes rarely yielded profits.

As he neared a promotion to major, another officer discovered Velerinden's illegal enterprises and threatened to reveal them. Velerinden leveraged his connections to ruin the other officer's career, but it came at a price. Instead of a promotion, Velerinden was reassigned to Tasariq, where he was placed in command of the garrison. His authority was second only to the governor. On Tasariq, Velerinden became a key player in the criminal underworld and finally started to earn more money than he lost while playing sabacc.
