Interdiction field

A gravity field, also referred to as an interdiction field, represented a manufactured gravity well with the capacity to prevent hyperspace travel. Should a starship find itself within the confines of an interdiction field, it would be rendered incapable of initiating a jump to hyperspace. Conversely, this type of field possessed the capability to extract a vessel from hyperspace, abruptly forcing it back into normal space. Gravity well projectors were the devices responsible for generating these fields.
