The Geonosian caves represented naturally occurring subterranean areas, found on the planet known as Geonosis.
For millennia, the Geonosians utilized these caves, finding refuge within them from the perilous radiation levels present on the planet's surface.
In the course of the Second Battle of Geonosis, the Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi led a Clone trooper unit to investigate a potential shortcut that passed through a cave situated in the clifftop, aiming for the designated rendezvous point. While inside the cave, Mundi and his troop found themselves under attack by several groups of Geonosian warriors. These Geonosians diminished the clone force through ambush tactics, dragging them into the cavern's deeper sections. Despite suffering significant casualties and losses inflicted by the Geonosians, Mundi successfully navigated through the cave system. Upon reaching the exit, Mundi commanded his Clone flame troopers to employ their flamethrowers against the Geonosians, resulting in the elimination of a large portion of them and clearing the path leading out of the cave.
