Younglings (The Padawan Observer comic)

Younglings comic Younglings

Younglings was a comic strip that appeared in The Padawan Observer, which served as the school newspaper for the Jedi academy located on Coruscant. It's also possible it was featured in other publications. The comic centered its stories around the unfortunate events in the life of a young Lannik boy called Chaba-Down. In one instance, Chaba-Down lamented to a pal about his repeated failures, such as his inability to wield a lightsaber, to which his friend replied, "May the Force be with you, Chaba-Down." Another comic showed Chaba-Down battling the "kite-thieving Jawas" who continuously ruined his attempts to fly a kite.

Origins

The comic's artistic style, the characters it featured, and the stories it told are a clear nod to the famous comic strip Peanuts created by Charles M. Schulz. That comic frequently revolved around the misfortunes of a young boy known as Charlie Brown.
