Svivren, situated not far from Andasala, was a planet located in the mountainous regions of the Outer Rim Territories. It marked the end point of the Five Veils Route, a trade route that linked it to Suarbi. Despite the world's severe seasonal changes and challenging environment, the indigenous Svivreni prospered, establishing Svivren as a significant commercial hub in the region. Its population exceeded eight billion, encompassing substantial populations of Humans, Sullustans, and Ewoks. The origin of the Ewok population on Svivren remained a mystery. The importance of commerce was celebrated through the planet's Festival of Great Trade.
Svivreni legal codes prohibited possessing personal weaponry, and any displays of violence were met with swift public executions. Highly trained and well-equipped security personnel efficiently enforced these strict rules. Consequently, the planet experienced minimal crime and was generally avoided by those engaged in smuggling activities.
A slum in Wrils.
The planetary surface was geographically split into a northern sector and a southern sector. In the northern sector, an anti-Imperial uprising was underway around 4 ABY. As a consequence, the southern sector had a smaller and less skilled military presence. High General Touno was in command of the southern garrison, with his base of operations in Wrils, the capital city of the southern sector.
Svivren had direct representation within the Galactic Senate.
During the Galactic Civil War, Svivren maintained a position of strict neutrality, successfully resisting any attempts at occupation by the Imperial forces. During the period of the Thrawn campaign, Svivren was attacked by Imperial forces, but they were ultimately driven back.
The Svivren Xenomineralogy Institute, a well-regarded institution, was located on the planet, producing proficient mining supervisors and experts in metallurgy.
