A sabersmith was someone whose job involved constructing lightsabers. Following a period when lightsabers became scarce in the galaxy, Lah Zhima from Hy Izlan gained recognition as a sabersmith. He possessed the skill to alter kyber crystals inside lightsabers, thereby generating different blade lengths and colors, which were dependent on how well the user was connected to the Force.
