Hrakert Station

During the Jedi Civil War, a clandestine Kolto harvesting facility, controlled by the Republic, operated on the planet of Manaan: it was named Hrakert Station.

While the Selkath were publicly neutral during the conflict, having brokered a treaty with both the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire for equal access to their kolto, some Selkath officials feared the consequences of a Sith victory. They secretly collaborated with the Republic to construct the station, with the intention that the additional kolto supplies would benefit the Republic's war efforts. The Selkath government believed this strategy would ensure their political safety, regardless of which side emerged victorious, due to their exclusive control over the vital healing substance.

The station was built near the Hrakert Rift kotlo deposits, with its production levels carefully managed to remain within the margin of error in official records, thus maintaining the secrecy of the operation. Revan is seen here wearing an enviro-suit outside the station. In 3956 BBY, the Republic Embassy on Manaan lost communication with the station. After several hired mercenaries were sent to investigate and failed to return, Roland Wann sought the assistance of Revan. Wann knew of ancient ruins located near the rift and suspected they contained a piece of the Star Map that Revan was searching for. Therefore, it was mutually beneficial for him to investigate the rift.

Revan discovered that the mining activities had disturbed the Progenitor, a colossal female firaxan shark residing within the Rift. The Progenitor, in response, emitted telepathic signals that drove both the sharks and the Selkath within range to madness.

Almost all personnel on the station had been killed and devoured by the deranged Selkath, while the escaping submersibles were destroyed by the Progenitor and its offspring. Following the advice of a surviving scientist, Revan destroyed the Hrakert kolto harvester, which was encroaching upon the Progenitor's territory. This action, while setting back the mining operation by several years, successfully calmed the creature. Once pacified, the Progenitor granted Revan access to the Star Map located near the base.

When the Selkath government inquired about the explosions detected near the rift, Revan was compelled to disclose the station's existence, officially describing it as a jointly operated research facility.

Subsequently, the station became the clandestine headquarters of the Order of Shasa, a Selkath cult with members Force-sensitive.

Behind the scenes

Should the player choose the dark side path, Revan will release a chemical agent that results in the death of the Progenitor and turns the kolto black. Given the creature's significant spiritual importance to the Selkath, Revan is permanently banned from Manaan, with the penalty of death for the killing of the creature.

Depending on the order in which the player explores the planets, either Calo Nord or Darth Bandon may be encountered at Hrakert Station.
