The Flarestar-class attack shuttle, alternatively known as the Flarestar-class Weequay ship, the Penumbra-class attack shuttle, or the Weequay saucer craft, was a compact, disc-shaped shuttle utilized by the Weequay pirates operating from Florrum.
Capable of deployment from Surronian cruiser-derived Corona-class armed frigates, the Flarestar-class attack shuttle could touch down on surfaces too small for the larger capital ship. Its dimensions were at least 1/11th of the carrier vessel. This saucer-shaped craft featured a dual cockpit configuration, each enclosed by transparisteel canopies located on the upper (dorsal) surface.
The underside (ventral side) of the vessel was equipped with a pair of thrusters, two laser cannons, missile launchers, and a trio of boarding ramps. Two of these ramps were positioned at the front, providing access to the two cockpits, while the third was situated at the rear, intended for passenger or cargo access. Hondo Ohnaka acquired several of these vessels from a collector located in Farana. The distinctive emblem of Hondo Ohnaka's pirate organization was painted on each side of the craft.
One such ship provided transport for Count Dooku and Ohnaka to the surface of Florrum. Subsequently, an accomplice working for Turk Falso employed a saucer to engage and destroy a Republic Nu-class attack shuttle carrying a ransom of spice, demonstrating the craft's capabilities as a starfighter against opposing vessels. Count Dooku subsequently utilized the vessel as a means of escape after his breakout from the Weequay prison.
Shahan Alama, a Weequay bounty hunter, experienced a crash landing on Florrum while piloting a Flarestar-class ship after being targeted by a Confederate frigate. He was later discovered by Ohnaka and two fellow pirates.
The designation Flarestar-class attack shuttle was first assigned to this craft in the webcomic The Clone Wars: Hunting the Hunters (Part I), whereas the sourcebook Galaxy at War referred to it as a Penumbra-class attack shuttle.
