Princess Kneesaa is seen here receiving instruction in the Three Lessons from Chief Chirpa.
The Three Lessons represented a specific set of teachings at Bright Tree Village. These teachings were a required code that any heir to the position of chieftain had to master before ascending to the role of new chief.
As explained by Chief Chirpa, the Three Lessons consisted of:
- The Hand's Lesson, designed to cultivate both strength and speed.
- The Head's Lesson, which was to be understood when physical strength fails.
- The Heart's Lesson, considered the most critical lesson for any leader to be truly powerful. The idea was that with the heart and the mind working in harmony, the hands would never fail.
Princess Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka underwent the process of learning the Three Lessons while simultaneously participating in the defense of the village during an assault by a stranglethorn. Her father observed that through these actions, she demonstrated a significant aptitude for leadership as a Chieftainess.
