Gungans practicing sling painting in the Theed Coliseum
Gungan sling painting was a popular performance art form and sport practiced by the Gungans, a race of sentient amphibians originating from the planet Naboo. Those who took part in this activity would use slings to hurl balls of liquid paint and color at different targets, such as performing astromech droids. The Gungan artists cultivated their unique "paint balls" within their underwater city, known as Otoh Gunga. Back in 32 BBY, a quartet from the Gungan Sling Brigade showcased this art at the Theed Coliseum, commemorating the joint victory of the people of Naboo—both Gungans and Human inhabitants—over the Trade Federation's invasion.
Using slings to paint dancing droids was one of six activities present in Star Wars: Early Learning Activity Center, a video game for children that Lucas Learning put out in 2000.
