Factor 5

Factor 5 logo Factor 5 was a video game developer from Germany, famous for their work on the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron video game franchise.

Financial difficulties led to Factor 5's closure in 2009. The company is presently engaged in legal battles with its former staff, who allege unpaid wages.

A 2016 Unseen64 presentation disclosed that Factor 5 had been developing a pair of video games prior to their dissolution. One of these titles, Star Wars: Dark Squadron, would have presented the Rogue Squadron narrative from the perspective of the Empire. The second game, which took the place of Dark Squadron following its cancellation by LucasArts, was a game without a title featuring the Wookiee Chewbacca as a soldier of fortune, set shortly after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. George Lucas ultimately rejected this concept due to legal complications between LucasArts and Factor 5.
