Den Dhur, originating from Sullust, worked as a journalist and war correspondent for the Galactic Wave. This Sullustan garnered fleeting recognition due to his reporting during the conflicts on Drongar, notably his piece on the actions of the ruthless mercenary Phow Ji. Despite Dhur's attempts to portray him otherwise, the media transformed Ji into a hero of the Republic. Jax Pavan nicknamed Den Dhur "Shorty," while Dhur, in return, called Pavan "Small Eyes."

During his time on Drongar, Dhur underwent a transformation from a pessimist to a reluctant hero. His actions included rescuing Zan Yant's quetarra and attempting to get protocol droid I-5YQ intoxicated. Dhur also had a short-lived romance with fellow Sullustan entertainer Eyar Marath, and formed friendships with Galactic Republic Surgeons Jos Vondar, Zan Yant and Kornell Divini, as well as nurse Tolk le Trene and Padawan Barriss Offee. He intended to depart Drongar with I-5YQ on a mission to Coruscant, planning to inform Republic command that the bota on Drongar was losing its effectiveness upon his departure. However, he became involved in the Separatist assault on RMSU 7. Despite this, Den Dhur chose to proceed to Coruscant with I-5YQ after being transported to the orbiting MedStar.
His only other known assignment took him to Jabiim, where he initially encountered Filba. This meeting proved unpleasant, resulting in the Hutt nearly killing him in an attempt to gain favor with Alto Stratus.
Kornell Divini recalled a statement Den once made on Drongar, during his time as a medic for an RMSU.
After the Clone Wars concluded, Dhur and I-Five journeyed to Coruscant. There, I-5YQ dedicated several months to locating the Jedi Jax Pavan, the son of his former partner.
Eventually, I-Five located Jax, but the Jedi Knight in hiding initially rejected the droid as a companion. Den remained loyal to I-Five, and ultimately, they both joined Jax, along with Laranth Tarak and Nick Rostu, in their quest to find the droid known as Bug-Eyes.
However, Bug-Eyes turned out to be a ruse, a trap orchestrated by Darth Vader himself, in an attempt to capture Jax. Despite this, the friends survived the ordeal, and Den decided to remain on Coruscant with the team. They were later joined by Darth Vader's former aide, Haninum Tyk Rhinann.

Den and his companions became part of an underground resistance group on Coruscant known as the Whiplash. One of their missions involved assisting a Zeltron named Dejah Duare in leaving Coruscant. However, the mission transformed into an investigation following the brutal murder of Dejah's partner, a Caamasi artist named Ves Volette. During this time, Den sought to acquire parts for Jax to construct a new lightsaber, as his previous one was lost during the battle with Darth Vader. Once the investigation concluded, Dejah chose to remain on Coruscant and join Jax's team. Following a duel between Jax and Aurra Sing, which resulted in Laranth's injury, the Twi'lek Gray Paladin decided to work directly for Whiplash, departing from Jax's team.
Later, Jax and Laranth found a young Force-sensitive boy named Kajin Savaros. Soon after, Inquisitors began to pursue them relentlessly. Growing weary of the constant troubles, Den sent a message to his former lover, Eyar. Upon receiving her reply, he resolved to leave, packing his belongings and heading to the spaceport without bidding farewell to anyone, not even I-Five.
However, while waiting at the spaceport, he realized that his true home was not Sullust, but with Jax and his friends. Later, when Darth Vader injected himself with the bota and lost control, Den joined the Whiplash team, led by Thi Xon Yimmon, the leader of Whiplash, to assist in the rescue of Laranth and Kajin, who had been betrayed and captured by Dejah Duare.
Den survived this encounter and remained on Coruscant with Jax, I-Five, and Laranth.
