The initial phase of Jango Fett's involvement in The Hunt, was the Mission to Coruscant. Its purpose was to locate the Bando Gora and their enigmatic leader, Komari Vosa. Tyranus chose Jango from a select group to confront the dangerous cult, offering a reward of five million Republic credits. After receiving a tip from his Toydarian acquaintance, Roz, that the Bando Gora were implicated in the creation of mind-altering Death sticks, the latest craze in the underworld, Jango traveled to the capital world to locate Jervis Gloom, a small-time death stick dealer with potential information about the cult. Jango Fett chases down Jervis Gloom Jango's search for Gloom began in Coruscant's Uscru Entertainment District. He investigated various bars and nightclubs, battling members of a gang protecting Gloom, and quickly located the young dealer's warehouse. Gloom confessed to the Mandalorian bounty hunter that Groff Haugg owned the death stick factory on Coruscant, and that Haugg would be the one to find for more information on the Bando Gora. After handing Gloom over to the authorities, Jango proceeded to the Industrial District.
To infiltrate the death stick factory, Jango utilized Gloom's transport. After an extensive search of the facility, during which he fought Haugg's henchmen, Jango discovered Groff Haugg's frozen corpse encased in a block of carbonite. He then encountered his former Mandalorian rival, Montross. Montross, also recruited by Tyranus for The Hunt, had reached Groff Haugg first. After extracting the information he could, he killed him to gain an advantage over competitors like Jango (Montross would later discover that Haugg had provided false information). Jango and Montross engaged in combat until Montross managed to escape.
With Groff Haugg deceased, Jango considered alternative leads to pursue in his quest to locate the Bando Gora. He reasoned that such a large operation involving the altered death sticks would require political involvement to remain discreet. Examining Haugg's files, Jango found a holofile of the Twi'lek Senator, Connus Trell, demanding to be released from Haugg's illicit dealings. With Roz's assistance, Jango located Trell's opulent apartment in the upper levels of Galactic City and headed there.
Reaching the Senator proved challenging, as Jango confronted numerous members of Coruscant's security forces, some of whom were wanted dead or alive by various criminal organizations they had offended. Eventually reaching Trell's apartment, Jango dangled the Senator over the edge of his balcony, demanding information. Trell, in fear, revealed to the bounty hunter that another death stick factory connected to the Bando Gora was located on Malastare, owned by the Dug, Sebolto. As Jango extracted the information from Trell, a CSF gunship approached the balcony, ordering Jango to release the Senator. Jango complied, throwing Trell off the balcony, resulting in the corrupt Twi'lek's death. Following a brief but intense battle, Jango destroyed the gunship and swiftly departed Coruscant.
After informing Roz of Trell's information, she explained that reaching Sebolto would be difficult. The only way to obtain information from the Dug would be by completing a task for him, specifically collecting a bounty. Roz informed Jango that Bendix Fust, an inmate of the prison on Oovo IV, was wanted alive by Sebolto. Jango set a course for the asteroid prison.
