The CC-9600 frigate, a CC-series capital ship, saw action during the Galactic Civil War and was a creation of the Corellian Engineering Corporation.
Characteristics
This CC-9600 design evolved from the prior CC-7700 frigate series; however, it lacked the characteristic gravity well projectors of the older model. Consequently, its tactical function differed significantly, serving as a dedicated warship rather than an Interdictor. Being more heavily armed and of a smaller build, it functioned as a line frigate. The CC-9600 possessed sufficient capacity to carry an entire regiment of soldiers, along with their equipment. Its speed, both within a planetary system and through hyperspace, was notable for a vessel of its size, making it a powerful combatant. Designed with atmospheric flight in mind, it featured retractable fins that enhanced stability during landings and troop deployments.
