Cadence represents a specific kind of lightsaber practice exercise found within the ancient teachings of the Jedi Order. During Rey's time training under Luke Skywalker's tutelage on Ahch-To, her extremely zealous execution of these cadences resulted in the destruction of a local rock formation referred to as the "Windwailer."
Production Notes
Within Star Wars canon, the concept of cadences was initially introduced in the 2019 reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo. Conversely, in the Star Wars Legends timeline, the term "cadences" appeared for the first time in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a supplementary resource for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, released by West End Games on May 13, 1993.
