Braised fork tarts, also known by the Huttese term "jimunee ronto pagona" (within the language of the Hutt species), were a specific type of food item. These tarts, created by the Hutts, contained thorns that needed to be removed before they could be safely eaten. Ebenn Q3 Baobab, a scholar, documented these tarts in his book titled Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide.
Despite the potential hazard posed by the thorns, the Human scholar Ebenn Q3 Baobab suggested that readers sample the dish. In his book, the Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, he recommended trying it in the Hutt establishments located in the spaceport of Mos Eisley on the planet Tatooine, if one happened to be visiting that area. The book, published in 6 ABY, also provided the Huttese translation of the dish's name within the Huttese language section, where Baobab included it among his favorite Hutt foods. He noted that Hutt cuisine, including these tarts, was expensive. He advised that the tarts be eaten casually and in a random order, using gloves, but clarified that utensils were optional. In 19 ABY, the dish, along with other Hutt delicacies, was served at a feast hosted by the Hutt crime lord Popara Anjiliac Diresto in his penthouse on Nal Hutta.
The mention of braised fork tarts first occurred in the 2001 book, Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, authored by Ben Burtt. Later, in 2012, the tarts appeared in the novel Scourge, written by Jeff Grubb. This novel served as the novelization of the Star Wars Roleplaying Game adventure Tempest Feud by Wizards of the Coast.
