During 1 BBY, Han Solo, who was a smuggler, finalized the sale of the Sentinel-class landing craft known as the Freebird to a contingent of these Black Hammer pirates. This transaction occurred in Gal'fian'deprisi, a city situated on the planet called Galantos. The central hub for the Black Hammer pirates was a base located within the Chirk'pn Wastes, which lay adjacent to Galantos' Gar'glum Sea. The Trandoshan named Stima Ardella held the position of their chief.
