Arrad was a male Human miner, the offspring of Rikkard, who resided on the planet called Lanteeb amidst the Clone Wars—a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In the vicinity of 21 BBY, Arrad found himself in [Torbel] during the Separatist invasion of the planet, an assault led by General Lok Durd employing their newly developed bio-weapon. He and his father greeted Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, two Jedi who arrived to gain the villagers' support and secure permission for the village's storm shields. Unfortunately, when a shield malfunctioned, Arrad sustained injuries from a gas that permeated beneath it, but Obi-Wan subsequently utilized the Force to rescue him.
