Alderaan's star system was named after Alderaan, which served as its main planet. Initially, five planets revolved around it in orbit. Following the destruction of the planet Alderaan itself, the system transformed into an asteroid belt known as The Graveyard, the remains of the former world. The Alderaan system was named for it.
