Aerial landing platform
The aerial landing platform, which can also be called a sky-base or skybase, represented a form of starship utilized by the Galactic Empire. Its purpose was to act as a staging area when invading planetary territories. In the year 18 BBY, these platforms were sent to Mon Cala with the objective of suppressing a rebellion, after the destruction of all cities on the planet's surface.
The First Order, which succeeded the Empire, also possessed landing platforms that shared design similarities with the sky-base.
Behind the scenes
The initial mention of the aerial landing platform occurred in Darth Vader (2017) 14, with a subsequent appearance in Darth Vader (2017) 15. These comic books, both published in 2018, were written by Charles Soule and featured illustrations by Giuseppe Camuncoli.
